Imagine being removed from your home in an emergency situation and taken somewhere you’ve never been before to live with little to nothing to remind you of home. Imagine only having ten minutes to pack one small bag to bring with you and not having room for toys or comfort items because you opted for clothing or other necessities you would need for the night. Imagine moving around from place to place, not being able to settle in with belongings to call your own. These scenarios are far too common for children in foster care.
That’s why Adoption Connection, PA, is working to provide children in care with stuffed, plush bears to call all their own. These bears are the perfect size to be hugged, squeezed, and cuddled by children as they navigate the various transitions and hardships that can come with being removed from their home and placed into care. For older youth and teens, ACPA may provide a blanket or more age-appropriate item instead. Either way, these gifts will serve as a constant kids can rely on as they change placements, meet new families, or return home; something they can take ownership of and comfort in.

Send Care with a Bear
Purchase a huggable bear for a child in foster care.
To provide a bear via check, please mail a check to our office. Checks can be made out to “Adoption Connection, PA.” Be sure to include “Care with a Bear,” followed by the number of bears you would like to purchase in the subject line. Bears are $20 a piece, no processing fee necessary when paying by check.
